Basketball Recap: Monte Del Sol Charter Takes a Loss

Monte Del Sol Charter played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Legacy Academy Silverbacks and fell 67-27. The Dragons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Silverbacks from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Monte Del Sol Charter's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gadyel Rodriguez, who posted eight points, and Devin Moore, who earned three points in addition to five assists and five steals. That's the most steals Moore has posted since back in February of 2024.

Legacy Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Tavarez out in front who went 7 for 9 en route to 14 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bryant Scales, who had 13 points along with five boards and four steals.

Monte Del Sol Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Legacy Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

Monte Del Sol Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-6 loss against Menaul on the 29th. Legacy Academy has also already played their next contest (against Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
