Rampart is 6-0 against Air Academy since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Rampart Rams will look to defend their home field against the Air Academy Kadets at 7:00 p.m. Rampart will be strutting in after a win while Air Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Rampart strolled past Vista Ridge with points to spare, taking the game 35-19. The win was just what Rampart needed coming off of a 47-21 defeat in their prior game.
Rampart can attribute much of their success to Camden Bruns, who rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown, and Maciu Ramaqa, who rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns.
Rampart's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Justus Derickson and Peter Richardson who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Air Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. The matchup between Air Academy and Falcon wasn't particularly close, with Air Academy falling 42-25.
Gabe Dillemuth put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Madax Daniels, who threw for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Rampart now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Air Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5.
Rampart beat Air Academy 21-14 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Does Rampart have another victory up their sleeve, or will Air Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
