The Granada Bobcats entered their tilt with the Genoa-Hugo Pirates with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Granada made off with a 39-38 win over Genoa-Hugo. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Genoa-Hugo still got an impressive performance from Konner Rowden-Stum, who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 114 receiving yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Smith, who threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes.
Granada's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Genoa-Hugo, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Granada will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Cheyenne Wells at 1:00 p.m. Cheyenne Wells knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Granada likes a good challenge. Genoa-Hugo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
