Basketball Recap: Harding Academy's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Harding Academy extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Claire Citty. The Harding Academy Wildcats put the hurt on the Sylvan Hills Bears with a sharp 55-29 win on Thursday thanks in part to Citty, who went 8 for 17 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight steals and five boards. The match was her eighth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Mileigh Harlow, who posted seven points and 14 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.

Harding Academy's record now sits at 8-0. As for Sylvan Hills, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Harding Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-29 loss against Beebe on the 27th. As for Sylvan Hills, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Parkview at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Parkview has three straight victories, Sylvan Hills has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
