The Ranger Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 51-29 defeat at the hands of Victory Baptist Academy. Ranger was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Victory Baptist Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
Victory Baptist Academy can attribute much of their success to Brock Hestand, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Hestand hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Vinnie Catuto, who scored seven points along with seven assists and four steals.
Ranger now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Ranger will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Rochelle at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. Rochelle is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Victory Baptist Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ranger at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
