The Alief Elsik Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 48-40 to Clear Springs. While losing is never fun, Alief Elsik can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 734th, while Clear Springs is ranked 131st).
Alief Elsik's loss came despite strong showings from Ricky Wilson and David Uwalaka. Wilson scored 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Uwalaka scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him.
Alief Elsik bumped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Clear Springs, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alief Elsik will be home for the holidays to greet Strake Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
