Basketball Recap: St. Paul's Prep Skates Past Grace Christian Academy with Ease

After only 26 points in their last matchup, St. Paul's Prep made sure to put some points up on the board against Grace Christian Academy on Monday. The St. Paul's Prep Lions claimed a resounding 64-27 victory over the Grace Christian Academy Colts. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Wyatt Tate was his usual excellent self, going 12 for 17 en route to 28 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The game was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mateo Talavera, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 15 points.

St. Paul's Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grace Christian Academy only posted three assists.

Despite the loss, Grace Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Brycen Adams posted eight points and six boards.

The win was the fourth in a row for St. Paul's Prep, bringing their record for this year to 10-9. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Grace Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

St. Paul's Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-50 victory against Community Christian on the 4th. As for Grace Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-53 defeat against Heritage Christian Academy on the 4th.
