The Zarephath Academy Eagles's five-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 82-80 win over Warner Christian Academy. Zarephath Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashton Flores, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Flores scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleb Goolsby, who scored 16 points along with six assists and two steals.
Zarephath Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Warner Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Zarephath Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Young Kids In Motion at 6:30 a.m. on January 18th. As for Warner Christian Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Trinity Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th.
