The Nazareth Academy Roadrunners were the 50-46 winner over the Carmel Corsairs when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Nazareth Academy's tough 60-36 loss to the Corsairs on Friday might stick with them for a while. Nazareth Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nazareth Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Talen Pearson and Matthew Callahan. Pearson scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, while Callahan scored eight points along with two steals.
Nazareth Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Carmel, their victory bumped their record up to 10-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nazareth Academy and the Shamrocks will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Patrick presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Roadrunners in Illinois (the Shamrocks are ranked 84th, while the Roadrunners are ranked 301st). As for Carmel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the RedHawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marist is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
