Given Westfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Wildcats are ranked 203rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from William Robinson, who scored 20 points. Robinson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Braden Norris was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
When it comes to explaining why Centreville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaxson Davis. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Soren Kyne, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Westfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Centreville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.
