STRATFORD, Conn. -
Bunnell (Stratford, Conn.) took an early lead against
Immaculate (Danbury, Conn.) and held on for a 48-20 victory on Saturday.
The Bulldogs scored 12 points in the first quarter. Bunnell scored on a touchdown run and a passing touchdown.
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, BHS led 33-0 at the half.
The Stratford school expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs' lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 46-21 win for Bunnell.
The victory was a step in the right direction for BHS, which was coming off a 34-26 defeat at the hands of Brookfield in its previous game.
In a Southwest game next week Bunnell (1-1) takes on Masuk, and Immaculate (0-2) will go up against Weston also in a Southwest game.
