Selinsgrove is 0-8 against Danville since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Selinsgrove Seals will head out on the road to face off against the Danville Ironmen at 7:30 p.m. Danville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Selinsgrove, who comes in off a win.
Even though Jersey Shore scored an imposing 68 points on Thursday, Selinsgrove still came out on top. Selinsgrove took their game against Jersey Shore 76-68. Given Selinsgrove's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Jersey Shore is ranked 600th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Selinsgrove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ries Naugle, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Xaivier Jackson, who scored 18 points.
Danville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell just short of Williamsport by a score of 51-49. Danville has not had much luck with Williamsport recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Selinsgrove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Danville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.
Selinsgrove couldn't quite finish off Danville when the teams last played back in January of 2022 and fell 51-49. Can Selinsgrove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
