Duluth's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylie Zirger, who scored 14 points along with six assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Saniya Johnson, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Discovery lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaylon Jackson, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Maiya George was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Discovery smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Duluth only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Duluth's victory bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Discovery, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-14.
Duluth will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Peachtree Ridge at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Georgia (Duluth is ranked 339th, while Peachtree Ridge is ranked 333rd). As for Discovery, they will head out on the road to square off against Berkmar at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Discovery is facing Berkmar at the right time seeing as Berkmar is stuck on a 21-game losing streak.
