The Crooms Academy Panthers were the 35-11 winner over the First Academy Eagles when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Crooms Academy had to suffer through a rough 57-6 loss at the hands of First Academy. Crooms Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-1.
Leading First Academy to victory were Ashlyn Neiford and Kyra Spivey. Neiford scored 8 points along with 11 steals, while Spivey scored 16 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Schwartz, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Crooms Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for First Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Crooms Academy will head out on the road to face off against Warner Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for First Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. John Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. John Lutheran comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
