Arthur-Okaw Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Heritage Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Arthur-Okaw Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday.
Arthur-Okaw Christian struggled with assists on Monday (La Salette Academy had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Arthur-Okaw Christian took a 51-37 bruising from La Salette Academy.
Despite their defeat, Arthur-Okaw Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. James Lee, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The matchup was Lee's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Rutledge, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Heritage's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Westville at home and fell 68-20. Heritage was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-11.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Heritage struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Arthur-Okaw Christian now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Arthur-Okaw Christian have been dynamite from deep this season, having drained 43% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Heritage, though, as they've only made 35.1% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
