Aptos has gone a perfect 10-0 against Harbor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Mariners will face off against the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Aptos has three straight wins, Harbor has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Aptos got the win against Soquel by a conclusive 17-3. Considering the Mariners have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Aptos got a great performance from Mya Najera-White as she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Aptos let Kailani Aguayo and Gwen Vaca run wild. Aguayo went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Vaca went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Aguayo has posted since back in March. Nova Neu was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Aptos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Harbor lost 13-1 to San Lorenzo Valley on Tuesday.
Hana Pomrantz spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and 11 unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Sofia Monroe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Juliet Ray also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Aptos' victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Harbor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Harbor's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Aptos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .401. It's a different story for Harbor, though, as they've only averaged .158. Will they be able to contain Aptos' hitters?
Everything went Aptos' way against Harbor when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Aptos made off with a 12-1 victory. Will the Mariners repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
