The Cumberland Christian Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Gloucester County Christian on the road and fell 58-12. Cumberland Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-3.
Angela Karamisakis was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with five assists and two steals for Gloucester County Christian. Karamisakis continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Caroline Shields was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Cumberland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Gloucester County Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Cumberland Christian will be playing at home against the Warrior at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Calvary Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Gloucester County Christian, they and the Pioneers will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The Pilgrim Academy's defense has only allowed 28.6 points per game this season, so the Conquerors' offense will have their work cut out for them.
