Arapahoe and Medicine Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Arapahoe Warriors will take on the Medicine Valley Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arapahoe will be strutting in after a victory while Medicine Valley will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Arapahoe made easy work of Lawrence-Nelson and carried off a 52-27 win. The win was just what Arapahoe needed coming off of a 49-23 defeat in their prior game.
Arapahoe relied on the efforts of Berkley Warner, who scored 14 points along with 9 steals and 6 rebounds, and Clara Hilker, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Warner has scored at least 25% of Arapahoe's points. Sage Larson was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Medicine Valley struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Friday (Paxton was 26% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Medicine Valley took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paxton. Medicine Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Medicine Valley's loss came about despite a quality game from Stella Heapy, who scored 26 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Heapy scored a full 55.3% of Medicine Valley's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sienna Houghtelling, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
The win got Arapahoe back to even at 1-1. As for Medicine Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Arapahoe didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Medicine Valley in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 45-40 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Medicine Valley's Milla Farr, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Arapahoe to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
