Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Mogollon Mustangs walked away with it. They took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 36-0 win over Bagdad. The result was nothing new for Mogollon, who have now won eight matchups by 34 points or more so far this season.
Mogollon can attribute much of their success to Kyson Owens, who threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Alexis Suarez and his 109 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Mogollon's win.
Masiu Aholelei and Ezrah Aguilar certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Aholelei rushed for 117 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while Aguilar rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns. Aholelei hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for ten straight games.
The victory (which was Mogollon's sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.5 points per game. As for Bagdad, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Mogollon will be staying on the road on November 11th to face off against Hayden at 7:00 p.m. on November 11th. Hayden is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Bagdad does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
