Madison Southern has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Buckeye Valley Barons in a holiday battle at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Madison Southern narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Madison Central 38-35. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Madison Southern has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Buckeye Valley put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bishop Ready 55-21 on the road. The result was nothing new for Buckeye Valley, who have now won four contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Ella Hazelrigg and Carlie Osborne were among the main playmakers for Buckeye Valley as the former dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds and the latter scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Osborne is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Hazely Wagner was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Madison Southern has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Buckeye Valley, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
