While the Hampton Roads Academy Navigators couldn't quite beat the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors on Thursday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 71-point loss they were dealt last Tuesday. Hampton Roads Academy fell just short of Norfolk Christian by a score of 44-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Hampton Roads Academy has suffered yet this season.
Brandon Giddens was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and five blocks for Norfolk Christian. That's the first time this season that Giddens scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Freeman, who scored 12 points along with six assists and two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Hampton Roads Academy and nudges their season record down to 7-4. As for Norfolk Christian, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 7-4.
Hampton Roads Academy will be playing at home against Steward at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norfolk Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Walsingham Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
