The Constitution Generals entered their tilt with the Overbrook Panthers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Constitution enjoyed a cozy 71-55 win over Overbrook on Thursday. 71 seems to be a good number for Constitution as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Kyree Latimer was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Perry Fields, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nasir Kelly, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Kelly is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Tahmiere Manning was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Constitution pushed their record up to 12-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Overbrook, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Constitution will take on Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Constitution likes a good challenge. As for Overbrook, they will head out on the road to square off against Mastery Charter North - Pickett at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mastery Charter North - Pickett is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
