Mason Pickett-Hicks Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, South Pointe got the W thanks in part to Mason Pickett-Hicks playing the best football he has all season. Pickett-Hicks rushed for 291 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run.
The victory was the fourth in a row for South Pointe, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. Pickett-Hicks' next match is against Dreher on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

Roper Wentzky produced his most outstanding game to date while leading A.C. Flora to the win on Friday. Wentzky threw for 516 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Wentzky is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Camden on Friday. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Wentzky saw the Bulldogs), he threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns.

On Friday, Dreher had to settle for second even though Willie Smith put up the best numbers he has all season. Smith wasn't messing around, making 14 total tackles. The match was his third straight with two or more rushing touchdowns dating back to last season.
Dreher dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Smith and Dreher will be playing in front of their home fans against South Pointe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

A.C. Flora was led to victory by Kendall Byrd, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Byrd picked up 292 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He's now once again averaging 100+ receiving yards (106.8) per game. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 58 yards.
If the past is any indication, Byrd could be in store for another big game when he takes on Camden on Friday. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Byrd saw the Bulldogs), he picked up 170 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

South Pointe was led to victory by Aakil Brown, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Brown wasn't messing around, picking up three sacks, forcing three fumbles, and making six total tackles. The match was his fifth straight with five or more total tackles dating back to last season.
For the year, Brown has averaged 6.4 total tackles per game and for the season has 7 sacks. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he had one forced fumble. This year he is already up to five.
