Meanwhile, Mandarin sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over New Smyrna Beach on Thursday.
Mandarin had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 19-25, 25-15, 25-23, 15-13.
Atlantic Coast's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Mandarin, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Atlantic Coast has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 11.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Mandarin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
