The Fort Cherry Rangers will challenge the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fort Cherry comes in on ten and Chartiers-Houston on four.
On Wednesday, Fort Cherry sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Bishop Canevin. That's two games straight that the Rangers have won by exactly two runs.
Landon Trnavsky was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Blake Sweder was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Chartiers-Houston ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Charleroi 10-9.
The team relied heavily on Dominic Cumer, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julius Livingston, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Fort Cherry's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Chartiers-Houston, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fort Cherry has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Chartiers-Houston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Fort Cherry's way against Chartiers-Houston when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Fort Cherry made off with a 19-3 victory. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
