After a string of three wins, the Ashford Yellowjackets's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carroll. Ashford has not had much luck with Carroll recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Carroll got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lakeith Person out in front who scored 25 points along with 6 steals. Person is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of N'jia Gosha, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 blocks.
Ashford's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Ashford will head out on the road to face off against Dale County at 6:30 p.m. on December 14th. As for Carroll, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rehobeth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rehobeth is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
