The Williams Vikings had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with  a   49-40  win over Ash Fork. The score was all tied up  18-18 at the break, but Williams was the  better team in the second half.
 Williams had a senior duo take command as  Braydyn Larimore  scored 17 points along with six  rebounds and four  steals and  Kai Mortensen  scored 15 points along with six  steals and three  blocks. Mortensen hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games.  Kenzie Orozco was another key contributor,  scoring five points along with eight  steals.
  Gracie Staples and  Violeta Trujillo certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss.  Staples  dropped  a double-double on 11 points and 11  rebounds, while  Trujillo  scored nine points along with two  steals.
 Williams' victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Ash Fork, they have  been struggling recently, as they've  lost nine of their last 12 contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
 Williams won't have much time to rest: their next  game is against Fredonia at 2:00  p.m.  on January 13th. Fredonia's defense has only allowed 26.4  points per game this season, so Williams' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Ash Fork, they will head out on the road to  take on  Seligman at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses for Seligman and three for Ash Fork.
