Tolland is 0-6 against Bloomfield since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tolland Eagles are on the road again and play against the Bloomfield Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, everything went Tolland's way against Lyman Hall as Tolland made off with a 30-7 victory.
Ryan Caminiti was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes. Nate Howe made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Catholic 44-6 on the road. Given Bloomfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while East Catholic is ranked 131st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bloomfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Davion Kerr, who picked up 36 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrien Foster, who threw for 74 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Bloomfield's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. East Catholic's QB won't forget Ryan Pryce anytime soon given Pryce sacked him twice.
Tolland is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Bloomfield, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Tolland was dealt a bruising 42-0 loss at the hands of Bloomfield in their previous matchup back in October of 2019. Can Tolland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
