The Culbertson Cowboys lost against the Savage Warriors back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Culbertson fell to Savage 42-36. Culbertson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Culbertson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bridger Salvevold. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. Salvevold scored a full 41.7% of Culbertson's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dawson Bergum was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Culbertson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Savage, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Culbertson and Bainville will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Savage will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Culbertson at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
