The State College Little Lions will head out to face off against the Mechanicsburg Wildcats at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
State College not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26, 2024. Everything went their way against Chambersburg as they made off with a 7-1 win. The Little Lions haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jude Scavone tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Mechanicsburg took on Central York on Friday. The Wildcats blew past the Panthers 10-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the game before.
Eli Reider and Grady Weaver made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Reider tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Weaver struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Mechanicsburg's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). At the plate, Reider scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Weaver went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple was Weaver's first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jager Nailor, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Luke Bencivenga, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Mechanicsburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central York only posted a batting average of .185.
Mechanicsburg now has a winning record of 4-3. As for State College, their record now sits at 2-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. State College hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Mechanicsburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
