The South Wake Sabres scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to DASH for the full four quarters, racking up a 106-34 victory at home. South Wake has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.
South Wake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taevian Ingram led the charge by scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Ingram scored 15 or more points. Tyler Woolard was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
DASH's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Judd, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Josh Taylor, who scored eight points.
South Wake's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.2 points per game. As for DASH, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Wake won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chatham HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. Chatham HomeSchool knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully South Wake likes a good challenge. DASH on the road again on Thursday and play against New Life Camp at 8:00 p.m. on February 1st. New Life Camp has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30.
