Hilltop has gone a perfect 7-0 against Gorham Fayette recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cadets will venture away from home to face off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hilltop has three straight victories, Gorham Fayette has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Hilltop made easy work of Erie-Mason and carried off a 14-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Brennan Dempsey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Brady Wagner was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Terry Rebeck was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Hilltop hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Gorham Fayette fell victim to Holgate and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 12-0 to the Tigers.
Gorham Fayette's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hilltop, their record is now 7-2.
Gorham Fayette's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hilltop has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434. It's a different story for Gorham Fayette, though, as they've only averaged .277. Will they be able to contain Hilltop's hitters?
Hilltop got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Gorham Fayette by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Cadets repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
