The Duval Charter Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Covenant School of Jacksonville Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Duval Charter had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Harvest Community on Wednesday. Duval Charter never let Harvest Community get on the board and left with a 15-0 win.

Duval Charter got a massive performance out of Tyler Lumley, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Lumley has become a key player for Duval Charter: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Andres Tedesco also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen bases of the season.
Duval Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Covenant School of Jacksonville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on First Coast Christian with a sharp 16-1 victory on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Landon Jones was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Jones was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Javien Strobridge was a standout: he scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Randy Parker, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and one RBI.
Covenant School of Jacksonville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. Duval Charter's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Duval Charter has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .519. However, it's not like Covenant School of Jacksonville struggles in that department as they've averaged .523. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
