Basketball Recap: Beau Taber Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat New Braunfels

There's no place like home for Alamo Heights, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They strolled past the New Braunfels Unicorns with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 68-51. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-48 back in December of 2024.

Alamo Heights got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Beau Taber out in front who went 9 for 12 on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Taber a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matthew Munguia, who posted 15 points along with six assists and five boards.

Alamo Heights' win bumped their record up to 24-7. As for New Braunfels, they moved to 21-12 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Alamo Heights will square off against Wagner at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alamo Heights is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.1 points per game this season. As for New Braunfels, they will challenge Boerne at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boerne knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully New Braunfels likes a good challenge.
