It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Mission Oak Hawks had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 35-12 margin over Mt. Whitney. The result was nothing new for Mission Oak, who have now won four matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Mission Oak's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenny Jackson, who rushed for 134 yards. Daniel Gonzalez was another key contributor, throwing for 74 yards and two touchdowns.
The win was the third in a row for Mission Oak, bringing their record for this year to 7-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.7 points per game. As for Mt. Whitney, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
Mission Oak will look to defend their home field on November 17th against Washington Union at 7:00 p.m. Mt. Whitney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
