The Eastmark Firebirds pushed their score all the way to 66 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 85-66 to Cactus. Eastmark lost against Cactus in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 67-60 score last time.
Bradey Henige had an outrageously good game for Cactus as he dropped a double-double on 42 points and 22 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Henige has scored at least 25% of Cactus' points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Hutton, who scored 17 points along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds.
Eastmark has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Cactus, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastmark will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Mesquite is ranked 32nd, while Eastmark is ranked 19th). As for Cactus, they will head out on the road to face off against Sunrise Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Sunrise Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
