After a string of seven wins, the Wahoo Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Ashland-Greenwood by a score of 44-41. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wahoo has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Wahoo still got an impressive performance from Marcus Glock, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Glock hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Cody Hesser was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Wahoo's defeat ended a 20-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-3. As for Ashland-Greenwood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Wahoo will stay at home for another game and welcome Ralston at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Ralston is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they will head out on the road to square off against Boys Town at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Boys Town will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Ashland-Greenwood is ranked 30th).
