If North Gaston wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played South Point, they should've done a better job of containing  OB Lowery Jr.. The South Point Red Raiders put the hurt on the North Gaston Wildcats with a sharp  92-68 win on Friday thanks in part to  Lowery Jr., who  went 14-for-26  to rack up 39 points. The  game was  his ninth in a row with at least 17 points.
 The team also got some help courtesy of  Cayden Rumph, who  went 7-for-16  en route to 15  points along with seven  assists and seven  rebounds. What's more,  he also posted a 33%  three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's  achieved since back in December of 2024.
 When it comes to explaining why North Gaston lost, don't look at  Markell Carothers. Despite the final result, he  posted 36 points and six  boards. Carothers is  on a roll when it comes to  points, as he's  now  scored 16 or more in each of the last six games he's  played.  Brandon Flowers also deserves some recognition as  he  posted his first  assist of the season.
South Point's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for North Gaston,  they are  on  a  12-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 6-18.
 South Point wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  70-66  loss against A.C. Reynolds on the 25th. North Gaston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
