The Wise Pumas just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Wise's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They suffered a tough 51-30 loss at the hands of Suitland. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wise has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Eleanor Roosevelt took a serious blow against Flowers on Monday, falling 69-39. While losing is never fun, Eleanor Roosevelt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Flowers is ranked 29th).
Despite the loss, Eleanor Roosevelt got a solid performance out of Aaliyah Membrino, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Membrino has scored all season.
Wise's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.
Wise came up short against Eleanor Roosevelt when the teams last played back in January, falling 45-41. Can Wise avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
