Dixie is 1-9 against Cedar since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Dixie Flyers will look to defend their home court against the Cedar Reds at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Dixie suffered their closest loss yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Desert Hills by a score of 44-42. Dixie has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Dixie got a solid performance out of Kealah Faumuina, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 57.1% of Dixie's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Hali Smith, who scored six points along with eight steals.
Meanwhile, Cedar was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 48-42 to Pine View. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Cedar came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Pine View is ranked 89th).
Dixie's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Cedar, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
