The South Sevier Rams will take on the Beaver Beavers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Beaver will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: South Sevier extended their winning streak to 22 on Tuesday. The Rams' pitcher stepped up to hand Millard a 7-0 shutout.
Navey Lindsay made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kinsey Parsons, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.
South Sevier kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Beaver's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Enterprise on Friday. The Beavers put the hurt on Water Canyon with a sharp 24-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Beavers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.
Like South Sevier, Beaver also got a great game from a two-way player: Braylee Carter. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Carter was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Taylee Ashworth was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaeley Smith, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
South Sevier's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Beaver, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.
Beaver's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. South Sevier has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Beaver, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will South Sevier keep running through batters, or will the Beavers buck the trend?
South Sevier skirted past Beaver 3-2 in their previous matchup on April 1st. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Beavers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
