Basketball Recap: Hamilton Piles Up the Points Against Corvallis

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hamilton). They breezed by the Corvallis Blue Devils to the tune of 66-37 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Hamilton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Canaan Magness, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine assists. The dominant performance gave Magness a new career-high in assists. Tyler Jette was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

Magness wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Hamilton was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Hamilton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Corvallis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coincidentally, Hamilton and Corvallis will both be playing Stevensville the next time they take the court. Hamilton will head out to face Stevensville at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, while Corvallis will host them at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
