The Animas Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight defeat. They were beaten by Cliff 73-30. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Animas of the 58-28 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the loss, Animas still got an impressive performance from Lemuel Mcdonald, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mcdonald has scored all season.
Animas dropped their record down to 2-18 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cliff, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Animas will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Magdalena at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Magdalena will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Animas surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cliff, they will head out on the road to challenge Quemado at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
