Meanwhile, Monroe fought the good fight in their overtime match against Weddington on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Warriors 44-40. This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Central Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Monroe struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Central Academy might still be hurting after the 44-23 loss they got from Monroe in their previous matchup back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Central Academy was down 24-4.
