The biggest upset of the week belonged to Norwin, who defeated 281st ranked Greater Latrobe, 21-13.
Hempfield Area's Joey DeFloria rumbled for the longest rushing play in WPIAL AAAA Foothills this season in his game against Kiski Area last week. DeFloria scampered for 80 yards on the play and finished with 118 on the day as his team defeated the Cavaliers.
Kiski Area's dynamic duo of Chad Kuhn and Joe Brungo proved to be unstoppable against Hempfield Area, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kuhn threw for 50 yards and Brungo had 34 yards receiving.
Dave Heavner's team's dynamic duo of Kuhn and Brungo proved tough for rich bowen's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Brungo was the best receiver in the league this week as the Cavaliers fell to the Spartans.
Kuhn put up the best numbers in passing as Kiski Area fell to Hempfield Area.
DeFloria was the most successful running back in the league this week. Ty George also contributed to the rushing game with 65 yards on the ground.
DeFloria provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Spartans defeated the Cavaliers.
Leading WPIAL AAAA Foothills in both passing and receiving yards, Kiski Area's Kuhn and Brungo have proven to be a lethal combination. Kuhn has thrown for 337 yards this season, while Brungo, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 14 catches for 151 yards. Hempfield Area's DeFloria leads the league in rushing yards with 648.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Gateway takes on the Spartans. The Gators are currently in second, while Hempfield Area is in third.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, McKeesport beat Penn-Trafford 34-14,. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
