They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 47-16 win over the Lotus School For Excellence Meteors. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted since January 12, 2024.
Caprock Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Phillips led the charge by going 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points and five steals. That's the most points Phillips has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Yarnell, who went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds.
Caprock Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lotus School For Excellence only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Ruba Adam and Zion Johnson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Adam posted four points and three steals, while Johnson earned no points and three steals.
The win made it two in a row for Caprock Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-9. As for Lotus School For Excellence, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
Caprock Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-27 defeat against De Beque on the 29th. Lotus School For Excellence has also already played their next match, a 52-29 victory against Aurora West College Prep Academy on the 31st.
