Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask John Paul the Great Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the First Baptist Christian Eagles 82-0. Fans of the Guardians have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Riley Lormand produced another solid performance rushing for 267 yards and six TDs on only 12 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Daniel Charpentier was another major influence, as he rushed for 48 yards and ran in a TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: John Paul the Great Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 387 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as First Baptist Christian only rushed for -22.

John Paul the Great Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Nicholas Odinet, Lormand, and Matthew Guidry picked up one apiece. Odinet got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

John Paul the Great Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for First Baptist Christian, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

John Paul the Great Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-0 victory against Acadiana Christian on the 2nd. As for First Baptist Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 60-0 win against Mount Olive Christian on the 2nd.
