Lawrenceburg hasn't had much luck against East Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Lawrenceburg's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so East Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Lawrenceburg will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Rushville on Wednesday. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Lions 13-12. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Tigers, who until this contest were averaging 3.79 runs allowed.

Ryan Richard was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of T.J. Tibbetts, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Lawrenceburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, East Central made sure to put some runs up on the board against Rushville on Wednesday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 14-1 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
East Central got a massive performance out of Seth Strobl, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Cole Reynolds, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
East Central has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Lawrenceburg, their record now sits at 16-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lawrenceburg has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like East Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
