Kenston has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the South Rebels at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Kenston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Kenston came up short against Riverside and fell 59-52. Kenston has not had much luck with Riverside recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Alexis Black put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Angela Kale, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Kenston were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, South also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Mayfield by a score of 39-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South has scored all season.
Kenston's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-10. As for South, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Everything came up roses for Kenston against South in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 56-16 victory. With Kenston ahead 39-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
