Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northtown). They strolled past the Cristo Rey Jesuit Cristeros with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 32-17. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pumas as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Northtown can attribute much of their success to Soha Ali, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Sharokina Montano, who earned six points.

Northtown's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Cristo Rey Jesuit, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Northtown will head out to square off against North Shore Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cristo Rey Jesuit, they will host Muchin College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
